Former Wood Group Senior Executive to Chair ROC Board

Coral Reef Capital is pleased to announce that Derek Blackwood, former President of the Americas division of John Wood Group PLC (LSE: WG.L), has joined its portfolio company, ROC Service Company, as non-executive Chairman.  John Wood Group PLC is a FTSE 250 multinational energy services company with over $11 billion of revenue and 55,000 employees. 

Mr. Blackwood has over 40 years of experience in the energy industry.  From 1996 to 2013, Mr. Blackwood held a variety of leadership roles within Wood Group, culminating as President – Americas of the Production Services division.  At the time of his retirement, he was responsible for a business that had grown to $1.4 billion in revenue via organic growth and acquisitions.   He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Shawcor LTD (Ticker: SCL.TO), a leading global pipeline services firm. 

Mr. Blackwood is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a founder member of the GlobalScot network.  He was appointed O.B.E. in the 2007 New Year Honour’s list.
